Don't let Winter win this year! Beat the cold, the heaters, the wind and the elements and keep your skin supple and soft this Winter.

1. Prevent Water Loss from the Skin: Try not to perch yourself right in front of your heater. As much as it feels amazing to warm the body up, heating is the culprit for speeding up water loss from the skin. This causes dry, crepy and itchy skin. The same applies to showers; super hot showers will increase water loss, as well as dry the skin out leaving the skin feeling tight and sometimes even irritated. Blood flow increases as well highlighting any diffused redness you may have on the face, especially the cheeks and nose. These reactive skin types do not like direct hot water.

2. Facial OIls = Hero Winter Product: I have many clients that have discovered the amazing benefits of using Facial Oils in Autumn and Winter to combat facial dryness and dry winter skin. Some of these clients continue to use the Facial Oil all year round, where others start thei Facial Oil application in Autumn. 1 pump of Facial Oil into your favourite facial moisturiser will do the job. Use morning and night. I love my facial oil in the mornings especially as it gives my make up a super flawless finish. It acts as a natural and healthy skin primer! Facial Oils are full of essential fatty acids that our cells need for optimal function. A healthy skin will give your skin a glowing radiance. Our Skin Matrix CoQ10 Rosehip Facial Oil is packed full of Vitamin C, Coenzyme Q10 to recharge our cells batteries (yes every cell has a battery where it stores its cellular energy), Vitamin E and light yet deeply hydrating oils such as jojoba oil and rosehip. The best part of all is our Facial Oil will not clog your pores nor make you breakout.

3. Keep shedding the dead: Even though the weather may make us feel we don't need to exfoliate the skin as much as the Summer months, our skin thrives with a weekly winter exfoliation. Use gentle yet effective exfoliating scrubs that contain jojoba beads that are healthy for the planet and 100% natural and biodegradable. Our Skin Matrix AHA Exfoliating scrub will gently whisk away dead skin cells to not only make your moisturiser perform better, but it will allow your skin to reveal its true inner radiance. For those that prefer a non-grainy scrub, perhaps those with a sensitive skin or rosacea then the Osmosis Polish or the Aspect Fruit Enzyme Mask is for you. Apply after cleansing like a mask, leave for 10 minutes then rinse off. Enzymes digest dead keratin giving the skin a hydrating exfoliation.

4. Apply your skin care products one after the other – no break needed. A damp, moist skin will absorb your moisturiser far better than a dry skin. After cleansing, apply your serums and moisturiser one after the other, no need to wait in between applications. Skin is a fascinatingly complicated system, designed to protect against external harms (bacteria, UV radiation, etc,) regulate body heat, and manage nutrient levels and water loss. This is why I love Sheet Masks so much, because they keep the skin moist and allow product penetration to continue throughout the time the mask is left on the skin. The Skin Matrix Hydralift Sheet Mask is our gold standard mask for drenching the skin in much needed hydration this winter. Follow your weekly exfoliation with our Hydralift Mask that will not only hydrate the skin but supply gentle antioxidants and skin brighteners for a luminous finish.
