Sarah Wilkinson is a qualified Paramedical Aesthetician that is able to develop a program to enable quicker healing time whilst minimizing scarring. This enables clients to get back to their every day life a lot quicker as well as minimizing pain.

So what is a Paramedical Aesthetician?

Firstly let me clarify what an Aesthetician is. An Aesthetician is a qualified skin care specialist that treats the facial skin to maintain and improve the appearance. Usually an Aesthetician has a more in depth knowledge of the skin and how it functions, as well as ingredients and how they affect the skin.

A Paramedical Aesthetician works with clients whose skin or appearance is affected by trauma, or a medical procedure, such as surgery.

Anxiety reduction also is a key factor since the body heals a lot quicker and more effectively when the client is relaxed.

What types of treatments are offered?

Clients that are after a camouflage makeup will spend a half hour with Sarah to colour match the correct makeup, as well as being shown how to apply and blend concealer. Sarah will spend as much time as needed to make sure the colour match is right and the client is happy with repeating the steps at home. Wether you are after coverage post surgery or for port wine stains, the Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup is designed to not irritate the skin whilst providing healing, calming properties to the skin.

Pre and post surgery treatments are recommended to be purchased as a course for optimal results. It is advisable, if you are thinking of any surgery to find out as soon as possible what treatments you can do before to best prepare the skin. Sometimes 1-2 months before are recommended prior to prepare the skin for optimal results.

Reflexology and lymphatic drainage are used in conjunction with the treatments. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle massage that works on unclogging the lymph glands and the passageways that circulate lymph to bodily organs. With this the immune system is strengthened whilst cells receive more nutrients. Your Paramedical Aesthetician will confer with your surgeon or doctor throughout the entire process.
