Dermaroller® is an original concept that is German designed and patented device. Its efficacy has been proven by scientific and clinical findings for anti-ageing, anti-acne, skin regeneration improvement and Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).

The Dermaroller® is like a small paint roller with fine needles. On the surface of the roller, 24 circular arrays of 8 needles each (total 192 needles) are found, with a fine needle length of only 0.15mm. As the stratum corneum is very fine, the size of the needles is more than enough to pierce the skin and allow a pathway for active ingredients. They are small enough though to be absolutely painless. 

The Home Dermaroller® consisted of needles 0.15mm in length and is recommended to be used twice a week. Its is advised that the use of harsh fruit acids are not to be used immediately post Home Dermaroller® use. In Clinic Medical Dermaroller® consists of 0.5mm needles. Post care use of the Neova Copper Antioxidant Serum is recommeded to stimulate collagen, deliver antioxidants to the layers that matter and for its amazing anti-inflammitory effects.

The Stratum Corneum is the natural protective layer ..... however Dermarolling on the skins surface creates micro-channels into the Stratum Corneum. These channels will allow any kind of substance applied on the skin, to gain access to the deeper and viable skin layers. The micro-channels close over within a few hours. This is called a transdermal delivery system.

All this with only socal downtime, meaning you are only pink for the remainder of the day and minimal if any pink the following day, meaning you can go back to work.

Is it Safe? There have been no reported side effects to date after hundreds of thousands of procedures. As there is no thermal heat delivered to the dermis (like laser therapy), darker skin types can safely be treated with no risk of hyperpigmentation post treatment.

Does it hurt?You will have a topical anaethetic applied 45 minutes prior to your session so you are comfortable during your session. No post-op pain.

How long does it take?Your treatment is approximately 25 minutes.

What can I apply post treatment?We will apply an appropriate serum post treatment and Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup if needed. Minerals will only sit on the surface of the skin whilst protecting the epidermis. You will then apply your post needling kit products for the following 5-7 days.

Does Skin Matrix reuse the Medical Dermaroller?NO, single use only! 1 per client per treatment.

How many treatments will I need?3 treatments, 6 weeks apart. You can also purchase single sessions. Ask about our package price for 3 treatments.

Can I treat my body as well?Yes, Dermaroller can be used all over the body and face.

How do I maintain my results?Standard annual refresher should be considered, along with twice a week use of the Home Dermaroller®.

Not to be used on active acne, sensitive skins, fungal infections or irritated skin. 

Studies have shown that only 0.3% of product penetrates the stratum corneum, post Dermroller this is increased by 200 times.

Home Dermaroller®

What is it?  Your Dermaroller consists of assembled plastic discs incorporating 192 fine stainless steel .15mm micro points in eight rows.
Why? Supports the regeneration of epidermal cells and increases product penetration. For collagen stimulation and scar revision the In Clinic Medical Dermaroller®  is required.
How often do I use it? 2-3 times a week. Your Dermaroller can be used up to 100 times.
Can I share my home Dermaroller®? NO, only to be used on one person only! 

Steps for home use:
1) Cleanse skin
2) Apply appropriate serum recommended by your Skin Matrix Therapist for anti-ageing, pigmentation, scarring etc
3) Start Dermarolling - use gentle pressure and roll in the direction shown 4 times, vertically, horizontally, both diagonals. Be gentler on thinner areas such as the lips and around eyes. 4) Apply a moisturiser, making sure there are no fruit acids present as this will irritate.

Discontinue use if persistant redness or irritation occurs and consult your skin care professional.
Rinse the roller in hot water after use and spray the roller with the Dermaroller Cleaner and put back in case. Avoid contact with everything except your skin! Do not use any other product to clean your roller as this may destroy and blunt the needles causing injury.
